what's friendditto?
ok folks, does anyone know what friendditto is? It seams to be an automated archiving service but there seams to be HUGE argument about it. Some people claim that if you go there you can see posts that were marked as private, but becuase a registered friend signed up with friendditto then anyone can see it from the friendditto site. I have no primary information on this though as the friendditto site just shows a page asking for donations. Any one have a friendditto acount, or seen an acount before the site went down? PLease, I'm curious |

The force moves in mysterious ways
Remember I mentioned my lost passport? I decided I should make a start on the bedroom search. The general plan was to rip everything out and search. I also planned to whiz the Dyson around as well just for an added bonus. Now I am one of the annoying people who likes to dance, jump or generally jive whilst cooking/sewing/cleaning. To this end I decided to down a can of Japanese beer, pop on "Return of the Jedi " and crack on with it. Imagine my surprise when upon opening my DVD box set of the original Holly Trilogy that wizlow so lovingly bought for me, I suddenly found my passport in my lap. The force is certainly strong with this one. However I intends to stick to plan A and reorganise my shelves with a silly grin on my face Current Mood: surprisedCurrent Music: Film:Return of the Jedi |

dealing with the devil
Oh my goodness. I've actually signed a petition for the Tories! Basically a while back the European Parliament chaps decided that we poor ignorant thickos didn't know what was bad for us. The decided that we shouldn't be allowed to take vitamin and mineral supplements. Well so far they've decided to ban Boron, and higher strength vitamins. However, they are also having a complete over view of all supplements to decide weather or not to ban them. They have of-course decided to not tell us WHY some things will be banned, they don't have to. So, right now anyone who takes vitamins will be facing much higher costs in August when this law is enforced as each vitamin company has to reformulate each line of pills. From my time in chemistry I know that drug companies don't like herbal remedies that do a better job than their stuff for half the cost and no (or at least less) side effects. I also know there is a lot of Money floating around. And, to be honest there have been a lot of corruption in the EU parliament. I mean actually caught red handed stuff, and not just conspiracy theories. But, let us assume for a moment that they have OUR interests at heart. Lets assume that they think they know best. They think that we shouldn't have these things, and that drug companies and doctors should be put in charge of them. (the supplements WILL be available, from drug companies, on prescription) Some of you will know that over a year ago I was given medication against my protests called Virox. I only relented when they said they would refuse to treat me with my normal meds unless I gave them a try. Ok, i did, and they made me VERY ill, the doctors said I was an anomaly and let me have my old drugs back. Who has heard of someone dieing from overdosing on Vitamin C (the main vitamin they want to limit) in the last two years? Because today it has been revealed that Virox may have infact killed 140,000. We will never know the true amount, it could be less, but 140,000 is the current estimate. This law has already been passed in the EU, however the details are still being sorted out. The goverment of the UK could still stop a lot of problems by fine tuning this law but have so far done nothing. If this bothers you visit the Tories, at http://www.conservatives.com/vitamins/. You don't have to be a Tory, or believe in anything else they do to sign it. Then tell your friends Current Mood: angry |

Plot
Well I sort of did some of what I wanted to do yesterday. However I ended up sorting out our fees with sauron19 for Chinese tonight. However, seeing as dungeoneer is cooking "Toad in the Hall" tonight and wizlow did a fantastic job of sorting out the kitchen for me last night I think the housework will be nailed by 11:00 am. Inge wont be going back to Chinese as she wants to concentrate on writing the language and the money that would be spent on fees would be better spent on a learn at home course for her. As a result I've inherited her notes which will make my homework a lot easier :) Current Mood: calm |

The plot
This is an entry that's defiantly for my benefit. I always feel it's easier to stick to a regime if it's written down somewhere. My back is still hurting like hell and is over due for a recovery from the injections. I suspect the back pain caused me to sit with bad posture whilst I was using the computer yesterday and hence the situation has been exasperated. (wow, I spelt that right first time round). So, here's the plan, such as it is. Gentle exercise by tidying the garage followed by a few hours practice for Chinese tomorrow. I also need to find out where my embroidery lesson is being held tonight. Let's see if I stick to it. Current Mood: contemplativeCurrent Music: The near silent hum of an e-mac |

comedy
OK, here's an example of people wanting an entire system changed because they did something stupid. A local Welsh Conservative party decided to get a new web addy. They let their old addy expire and got on with their lives. Someone has bought the old domain and is now hosting Porn from it. The Tories are up in arms and are calling it theft. They've even gone so far as to report it to the police. They equate someone buying a domain which they discarded and let expire deliberately I might add as some form of hacking. The BBC diplomatically didn't give the address of the now porn site, but I managed to track it down. Whilst tracking it down I discovered this story is being reported in places as far away as China. So, behold, the new face of the Tory party in Wales. This is NOT work safe in any way, shape form or fashion http://www.delynconservatives.comUPDATE It looks like the managed to buy back the domain name. lets hope it cost them a packet. rambles
why spaced? Well it's 9.45 and I've had to take my pain killers just to get out of bed. It's been a weird few days to say the least. Basically wizlow sauron19 and I are getting prepped up for the china trip and getting all m of the vaccines sorted out. I have a different doctor, who decided I needed slightly different jabs. These I'm assured work very well, but cause mild inflammation in some people. This has combined with the inflammation already in my spine to make me feel quite horrid. Standard pain control practices are in force. A tidy house, interesting new blends of Chinese tea, a warning to people that sewing may be slowed down, a new book, loads of sci-fi on the tivo, and an interesting research project for the net. This should help me deal with everything and keep pain killer usage down to a minimum (I had to take some to kick start me today though as I couldn't even move to start with the distraction process). One thing I'll be doing is posting a bit in Live Journal as well, but fear not, I'll se cut tags if they will be too long Current Mood: SpacedCurrent Music: Ambient Nights |

tooo much to write...
It always happens. Tones of stuff happens, so much stuff I don't have a chance to update my LJ. Finally I have time to sit down and write and I've forgotten all the good stuff. OK, Cool stuff in the past. Two weeks ago I managed to cook a HUGE dinner for about 17 people. Christmas Dinner was great, thanks to wizlow theinterwebguy sauron19 for helping with the tidy up, and to dungeoneer for tackling the hundreds of shoes lurking in the house, and also thanks to evil666overlord for giving them a home. New Years was fun, including our normall chicanery :) Now I need to sort out life a little. Inge has helped me go through my finances and, after a little proding and help they are in order. I decided against any resolutions, but instead a few life style adjustments are called. Included in this are Dealing with paper work asp. Preferably before 10 am. St. Stevens day
Poor old St, Stephen. It's sucky enough having your birthday close to christmas so people cheap out and buy you one gift for both (Like I did to a friend this year). But to have your St. Day nicked by a low rate day as Boxing Day. That just sucks. All we do on Boxing day is visit relatives who you don't bother with all year. IT's for this reason that St, Steven is the patron Saint of boring Aunts Current Music: DI.fm Chillout |

china
Woot, things are looking up for China. Some of you may know that sauron19, wizlow and me are heading off to China next year. Basically it's a little bit of sight seeing combined with some training. We'll be working more on the combat side of Tai Chi, and some work at the Shaolin Temple. Things were looking a little wonky last week though. We were told the flights would cost over £200 more than we were originally told. We all had a bit of a think and even looked into going by ourselves later in the year We decided to stick with plan A because flights later in the year cost more, and also because any more faffing about may mean we'll never actually go. Well we just got confirmation, the flights are booked. So IT's all happening. Also the flights were only £90 more than we were told, which really isn't that bad. 8 People have bailed on the trip though. Possibly because of the extra cost (but in the grand scheme of things £90 isn't that much more) or possibly because they've realized just how much hard work it's going to be :) I can now enjoy watching Kung Fu on Thursday nights with a warm fuzzy feeling that we will be going to many of the same places seen in the flash backs to Cain's training in China :) Also now that I have rested my knee a little I can start getting to work getting fit for the trip and acclimatizing myself to Chinese food. I think the new Chinese shop has just opened up just in time for me:) Current Mood: excitedCurrent Music: Diamond Dogs |
